Dear Friends,
Join us this Thursday, September 24th for an evening curated by No Public Purpose.
No Public Purpose is an Amsterdam-based cultural collective built around community, sound and art. Rooted in dance music yet reaching beyond the dancefloor, NPP creates space for cultural expression that operates outside of the pressures of current scene forces.
“Those who have joined us for an NPP club night will know that we hold a small tradition of beginning our evenings with two carefully selected album listenings. The idea is simple: to slow things down, encourage deep listening, and share some of the musical influences that sit beyond solely dance-oriented music.
As part of our collaboration with Radio Hinter, we wanted to explore possibilities and grow this idea into a full programme. For the evening, we’ve invited six local selectors to each bring a listening session of their own, sharing music that holds personal meaning to them and offering a glimpse into the influences that shape their relationship with sound.
Perhaps it’s another way of looking at the club: following the threads that lead somewhere else, and making space for music that doesn’t necessarily ask to be danced to. In doing so, we hope to push gently at the boundaries of conventional radio programming and open a window into some of the more experimental fringes of Amsterdam's nightlife.
Come listen with us.”
