Schrödinger's Box Radio is back with another wild show of electronic anomalies, this time with guest mix by IFM legend - Selene!
The assignment: Record a mix with tracks that you’d listen to 100 times.
The result: A mix of machine-age techno and electro to listen to while wandering through the post-apocalyptic streets of Earth.
Selene has been transmitting techno, ambient and electro beats on the airwaves of intergalactic.fm since 2012 — first as the host of The Teahouse on IFM’s beloved ambient channel The Garden, and then on The Dream Machine as the host of Special Circumstances. She’s made multiple appearances at the IFM Festival in the Hague.
Originally schooled in acid house at full moon raves by the Wicked Soundsystem in the San Francisco Bay Area, she moved to New York where she developed her love of techno thanks to events like the legendary New Music Seminar. Any additional free time was spent digging through crates at Temple Records in Soho and throughout various sidewalk sales and flea markets in the city. In addition to IFM, she’s also had the honor of recording guest mixes for Berlin’s Vortex Traks, Chester’s Victrix, Dresden’s Per Musica Ad Astra, the Real Techno mix series and KEXP in Seattle.
Favorite sonic experiences: Plastikman at the Packard Plant, I-f at IFM Fest, Tee Scott at Sound Factory Bar, Robert Hood at Movement, Jeff Mills at Twilo, Jenö at Bonny Doon and Kraftwerk at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
